Hubba Bubba Max Strawberry Watermelon: Overview

Hubba Bubba Max Strawberry Watermelon is made by Wrigley, a subsidiary of Mars, Inc. Same non-stick, soft-chew formula as the rest of the Hubba Bubba Max lineup, sold in five-piece tape packs at grocery stores, gas stations, and pretty much every checkout lane in the US. The gum is two-tone: pink on one side, green on the other. It looks like what you’d expect from a strawberry-watermelon anything.

Our Hubba Bubba Max Strawberry Watermelon Review

Three Bubble Bunch testers tried it, and on bubbles, they were unanimous: tennis ball, every single one. Good result, total agreement. Everything else? A little more complicated.

The flavor gap was the bigger story. One tester reported 25 minutes of flavor duration. Another logged 8 minutes. A third split the difference at 12.5. Same gum, same wrapper, three wildly different experiences. Our best guess is that chewing intensity matters a lot here. Push it hard and the flavor releases fast; let it sit easy and it sticks around. Duration is always subjective, so the more testers, the more accurate our rating.

Some interesting comments: “Really flavorful initial watermelon flavor, but it seemed to fade fast… by 8 minutes it just tasted chewy and not flavored. This gum was a little more firm than ideal and felt like chewing silly putty at times.” The funny part? That same tester gave it a 5 out of 5 on taste. The flavor was great while it lasted; it just didn’t last.

The other two testers called the texture Just Right and had no complaints. Taste scores across the group were 4, 4, and 5. The overall score came in at 4.0, which is just a bit behind the original Hubba Bubba Max at 4.20, but close enough that it’s not a meaningful gap. If you like the original, strawberry watermelon is a worthwhile flavor detour.
