These are the best bubble gums in the world according to the Bubble Bunch, our tasting committee that scores every gum on taste, flavor duration, texture, and bubble-making ability. The ranking below is ordered by overall score, the average of those four marks.
It's a living list. Every time we test a new gum the scores recalculate and the order can shift, so the gum sitting at #1 today might get bumped tomorrow. Bookmark this page and check back as the lineup grows.
- 🥇 Big League Chew - Original 5.0 / 5.0
Few gums are as fun as Big League Chew. Pitcher Rob Nelson invented it in the late 1970s as a wholesome answer to the chewing tobacco baseball players spat back then: shredded bubble gum in a stay-fresh pouch, just like a tobacco pouch. The gum more than holds up. Our testers raved about the classic flavor that lasts a long time and a soft, perfect texture that won't stick to your face. The serving runs small, but double it up and you can blow some massive bubbles. Several of us call it a top-three gum.

Fantastic flavored gum from Japan. One of the highest rated gums in terms of taste and the texture is just right. You won't get huge bubbles, but that's ok because you'll be happy with all the other attributes of this exotic gum.
Taste 4.8 · Duration 4 · Texture 5 · Bubbles 5 - 🥉 El Bubble - It's a Girl 4.4 / 5.0
This is the gum you get for your friend who is having a baby girl, but who doesn't want a tobacco cigar. If you down the whole thing, it's a massive 20g serving size, so you can make huge bubbles. We thought it was overwhelming. It took 9 min just to chew it down to a manageable hunk. Quite the splurge, but it's worth it if you're celebrating a new life!
Taste 4 · Duration 5 · Texture 3.7 · Bubbles 5 - 4 Marukawa Fusen - Strawberry 4.3 / 5.0
Marukawa has been making these little marble gum balls in Nagoya since 1959, and they're a beloved Japanese "dagashi:" penny candy with a thin pink sugar coating and, in some boxes, a hidden "win a free one" ticket. The strawberry flavor comes on strong at first, then settles down. Like the others from this company, it just tastes great. The pieces are small, so bubbles aren't great, but the flavor is excellent.

Fun flavorful gum from Japan. Very high scores on taste. Nice bubble size too!
Taste 4.7 · Duration 3.3 · Texture 5 · Bubbles 4 - 6 Bubble Yum - Original 4.2 / 5.0
Bubble Yum is a titan of the bubble gum world, we'd give it a place on the Mt. Rushmore of bubble gums. As the first "soft" bubble gum, it rose to fame in the mid-1970s and still holds up: great taste, a perfect soft texture, and solid bubbles. We just wish the flavor lasted a little longer.
Taste 4 · Duration 3.9 · Texture 5 · Bubbles 4 - 7 Dubble Bubble 4.2 / 5.0
Dubble Bubble is the OG bubble gum, the first commercially successful bubble gum, invented back in 1928 by an accountant named Walter Diemer. It defined the pink color and the "bubble gum" flavor that nearly every gum since has copied, and it's still cheap and easy to buy in bulk. The flavor fades fairly fast and the gum runs on the hard side, but for big bubbles, a low price, and pure nostalgia, it remains the George Washington of bubble gums.
Taste 4.7 · Duration 3.2 · Texture 4 · Bubbles 5 - 8 Hubba Bubba Max - Original 4.2 / 5.0
Hubba Bubba is one of the modern classic "soft" bubble gums. All-around it's a great choice, solid flavor, texture, bubble-blowing ability, and even flavor duration. The coolest feature is that it won't stick to your face.
Taste 4.2 · Duration 4 · Texture 4.6 · Bubbles 4 - 9 Hubba Bubba Max - Sour Blue Raspberry 4.2 / 5.0
Hit-you-in-the-face sour bubble gum capable of massive bubbles. We liked it!
Taste 3.7 · Duration 3.7 · Texture 4.3 · Bubbles 5 - 10 Juicy Fruit - Original 4.1 / 5.0
Juicy Fruit is a classic with a 100+ year history. Long knocked for fizzling out fast, its flavor got a longer-lasting reformulation in 2016, and in our tests it held up well, with a nice balanced flavor and hints of banana. The texture's a touch soft and the bubble walls run a little thin, but overall it's a solid, iconic choice.
