Big League Chew - Original 5.0 taste

Few gums are as fun as Big League Chew. Pitcher Rob Nelson invented it in the late 1970s as a wholesome answer to the chewing tobacco baseball players spat back then: shredded bubble gum in a stay-fresh pouch, just like a tobacco pouch. The gum more than holds up. Our testers raved about the classic flavor that lasts a long time and a soft, perfect texture that won't stick to your face. The serving runs small, but double it up and you can blow some massive bubbles. Several of us call it a top-three gum.

    Marukawa Orange 4.8 taste

Fantastic flavored gum from Japan. One of the highest rated gums in terms of taste and the texture is just right. You won't get huge bubbles, but that's ok because you'll be happy with all the other attributes of this exotic gum.

    Dubble Bubble 4.7 taste

Dubble Bubble is the OG bubble gum, the first commercially successful bubble gum, invented back in 1928 by an accountant named Walter Diemer. It defined the pink color and the "bubble gum" flavor that nearly every gum since has copied, and it's still cheap and easy to buy in bulk. The flavor fades fairly fast and the gum runs on the hard side, but for big bubbles, a low price, and pure nostalgia, it remains the George Washington of bubble gums.

Marukawa Fusen - Strawberry 4.5 taste

Marukawa has been making these little marble gum balls in Nagoya since 1959, and they're a beloved Japanese "dagashi:" penny candy with a thin pink sugar coating and, in some boxes, a hidden "win a free one" ticket. The strawberry flavor comes on strong at first, then settles down. Like the others from this company, it just tastes great. The pieces are small, so bubbles aren't great, but the flavor is excellent.

    Marukawa Original 4.5 taste

Marukawa has been rolling out these little marble gum pieces from Nagoya, Japan since 1947. That's nearly 80 years of bubble gum. The Original flavor lands somewhere familiar but a little different: classic bubble gum taste with a subtle Japanese twist that the Bubble Bunch dug. The downside is the size. These pieces are tiny, and getting a serious bubble going takes some effort. Worth trying for the novelty. Just don't come in expecting competition-grade bubbles.

    Bubbaloo - platano/banana 4.3 taste

Bubbaloo is famous for being the first gum with a liquid center, and the thrill of those first few bites, where the banana flavor gushes out, is pretty epic. We just wish the flavor lasted longer, and you won't get huge bubbles from the standard serving.

Hubba Bubba Max - Strawberry Watermelon 4.3 taste

The Bubble Bunch did not agree on this one. Half the crew found the watermelon-strawberry combo flavorful and the texture excellent. The other half clocked the flavor fading in under four minutes, leaving behind something that chewed more like silly putty than bubble gum. Hubba Bubba has been around since 1979, disappeared in the '90s, and came roaring back in 2004 with this flavor in the lineup. It's got history. It's got initial punch. It just doesn't stick around long enough to seal the deal.

Hubba Bubba - Skittles Mini Gum 4.3 taste

If you love Skittles and you love gum, this is a no-brainer, the distinct Skittles flavors in gum form, with zero sugar. The only catch is the tiny serving size, so go ahead and pop two or three at once.
